The Sea Stag III on Friday, September 5th was fishing 30 miles south west of Santa Cruz The 14 fisherman caught 26 Albacore ranging in size from 20 to 30 pounds. Their was a lot of large Albacore that broke the lines and were lost. They had flat calm weather.OnSaturday the 6th the Rockcod trip came back with limits of cod and 22 Lingcod up to 21 pounds. The Live Bait Lingcod trips continue to do great. We have returned with good scores of Lingcod and limits of assorted Rockfish the last five trips. Salmon fishing has slowed up this week. The Sea Stag III is being booked for Rockcod Albacore and Salmon trips if Salmon fishing picks up. Our Live Bait Lingcod trips have been doing great. We have returned with good scores of Lingcod and limits of assorted Rockfish. The Salmon fishing has been slow up to now. Their is a large school of Salmon that moved into the area on Sunday. The boats are returning with limits of large Salmon. The Sea Stag III first Albacore trip on Sunday, June 29th was excellent. They had flat calm weather. The eight passengers caught 28 Albacore ranging in size from 12 to 20 pounds. They were fishing 30 miles out of Santa Cruz west of the weather buoy Today was opening day for Rockcod.The Sea Stag III 21 passengers caught limits of Lingcod and other assorted Rockfish. The Sea Stag III had a 10 person charter on Friday, June 6th. The 10 passengers caught 4 nice Halibut. The biggest was 20 pounds. They were fishing off Santa Cruz Lighthouse. The Sea Stag III and the Stagnaro II will be fishing this Holiday weekend. We have high hopes for this weekend. Their was reports of good Salmon scores from the party boats out of Monterey. The Sea Stag III 22 passengers were mooching off Soquel hole. The fisherman caught 9 Salmon ranging from 12 to 28 pounds. The Stagnaro II 8 fisherman averaged a fish per rod. It was not the opening salmon season we all hoped for but you could not ask for better weather. Both Saturday and Sunday was warm and the sea was flat calm. The Sea Stag III and the Stagnaro II both had a few fish both days. The skippers reported good amounts of bait, so we are hoping the fishing will pick up soon.
